HiNotes 3.0 is here, and this update is designed to help you spend less time sorting through notes and more time acting on them.
In this first post, we are sharing the biggest design and experience changes in HiNotes 3.0, from a new 3-pane layout to a redesigned note view and a homepage that gives you a clearer picture of what needs your attention.
In Part 2, we will look at the new productivity features, and in Part 3, we will cover AI models, templates, and regional updates.
From a completely redesigned interface to latest AI models, smarter task management, and powerful new ways to work with Whisper notes, there is a lot to unpack. Let's walk through the visual and experience changes that make this possible.
A Complete UI/UX Redesign: The New 3-Pane Layout
If you have used HiNotes before, the first thing you will notice is the new layout.
Our previous masonry view gave you a nice visual overview of your notes, but as your library grew, it often meant opening cards one by one just to find the right meeting. That added extra steps, especially when you were moving quickly between conversations.
HiNotes 3.0 introduces a new 3-pane layout: navigation on the left, your note list in the center, and the full note on the right. This side-by-side view makes it much easier to browse, open, and switch between notes without losing your place.

We also redesigned the structure inside each note. Instead of long blocks of text, notes are organized into clearer sections like Summary, Task List, and Key Decisions, with interactive checkboxes built in. That means your notes are not just easier to read, they are easier to use right away.

A Redesigned Note View: Transcript, Speakers, and Everything in Context
The individual note view has been rethought from the ground up. In previous versions, the transcript and the summary competed for screen space, making it hard to focus on one without losing the other.
In HiNotes 3.0, the Transcript now lives behind a dedicated button within each note. Tap it to expand the full transcript inline — it slides open right below your summary, so you can cross-reference the AI-generated notes with the original conversation without leaving the page. When you are done, collapse it back to keep your view clean.

Once the transcript is expanded, you will find a three-dot menu (⋯) in the upper-right corner. Tap it to access Speaker Name Editing — a feature many of you have been asking for. You can rename any speaker label (e.g., change "Speaker 1" to "Sarah Chen") and the change applies across the entire transcript instantly.

HiNotes 3.0 also introduces Speaker Suggestions. As you type, HiNotes can suggest names based on people from previous meetings and saved contacts, which makes transcript cleanup much faster when you are meeting with the same team regularly.

The Home Page Is Now Your Dashboard
We wanted the HiNotes experience to feel more helpful the moment you open the app. The new Home page does exactly that.
It brings together four key views in one place: your most recent meeting notes, a calendar showing upcoming meetings, a live feed of To-Dos extracted from your notes, and your latest Whisper notes. Think of it as mission control for your workday. Instead of navigating through folders or searching for that one note from last Thursday, everything surfaces automatically.

It is a simpler way to pick up where you left off and move into the rest of your day with more clarity.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of the HiNotes 3.0 Series, where we will dive into how HiNotes 3.0 supercharges your productivity with AI-extracted To-Dos, Whisper Note Aggregation, and Smart Labels.
